Cathy Said

A/Professor Said is the inaugural Associate Professor Physiotherapy, Western Health & The University of Melbourne.  She has over 25 years experience as a physiotherapist working in neurological and gerontological rehabilitation.  Her research interests focus on gait, balance disorders and falls in these populations and she has been a Chief Investigator on a number of NHMRC funded randomized controlled trials.

Associate Professor Said is the Project Director of our Allied Health Professionals research project.

She is the current chair of the Physiotherapy Research Foundation Grant Review Committee and the Victorian Health Research Translation Collaboration Falls Prevention Committee and part of a global consortium developing guidelines for fall prevention.

She was part of a group who developed www.safeexerciseathome.org.au, which provides evidence-based advice on exercise for older people
