Men and Women Needed for Genetic and Metabolic Research Study
Researchers in the Centre for Health, Research and Education and Exercise Metabolism Unit at the Sunshine Hospital are recruiting men and women between the ages of 20-50 with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25 kg/m2 and less than 35 kg/m2 and/or Type 2 Diabetes to participate in a study designed to evaluate the relationship between the genetic variations in metabolic enzymes and the variations in substrate metabolic profiles in the blood following low and high-intensity exercise. Participants will be required to undergo cardiopulmonary and body composition testing and to also submit to blood sampling. Eligible participants will be compensated for their time in completing the study in addition to genetic testing, body composition analysis and nutritional counselling.
