Male Volunteers wanted for research study on Exercise and Birth Weight!
Would you like to know the level of your cardiovascular fitness and insulin sensitivity?
Are you an 18-40 year old male and know your birth weight?
If so, we would like to invite you to participate in our study.
Adult men born with low birth weight are at an increased risk of developing diabetes. Exercise can help normalise blood glucose levels in diabetics, but it is not known if adults born with low birth weight respond to exercise normally compared with normal birth weight men in terms of insulin secretion and sensitivity as well as muscle mitochondrial biogenesis and function. We are conducting an exercise study to examine this response and are now recruiting adult men born with normal and low birth weight. See the attached flyer for more details.
